Fair Enough
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by circuses, carnivals, state fairs — and, in a similar‑but‑different way, amusement parks. Growing up in Dallas, the State Fair of Texas was just down the highway. In grade school we’d get a free ticket to use on Columbus Day (now Indigenous People’s Day) because the fair was that big of a to‑do.
I never actually went as a kid. Theatre rehearsal always won. No tragedy there — honestly, it worked out. Years later, my brother and I made up for it with a truly epic State Fair day. Capital‑E Epic.
Okay, confession time: this carousel is from an amusement park, not a state fair. But it sent me down the state‑fair memory tunnel, and I went with it.
